Planning & Programming

CRW

Our company is totally committed to the production of quality documentation, meeting all critical elements and ensuring that the Principals are thoroughly involved in the design, construction, and final commissioning phases of all projects.

Our Programming and Planning Guidelines are as follows;

  1. Work Assignment - Dividing the project into discrete work packages, each with a nominated reviewer. Matching the work package with individual personnel with previous experience and capabilities in the required areas to establish the project engineer.

  1. Interfaces – The drafting staff liaise with the project engineer to establish drawing issue covention, drawing naming and numbering, CAD file transmission details and layering techniques.

  1. Design Inputs – The indentification, documenting and reviewing of the design criteria and site specific data to establish an agreed basis for each system with the design engineer, reviewer and principal. Design inputs include;

  • Performance and Function requirements
  • Client Specific requirements
  • Regulatory Authority requirements
  • Applicable Codes and Standards Physical site data and constraints
  1. Preliminary Design – Planning and establishing design requirements, load extremes, principal circuitry, major plant items and obtaining ‘approval in principle’ from governing authorities. Specific work items addressed are as follows;

  • Design Assumptions
  • Analysis of alternatives
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Test Criteria to evaluate design acceptance
  1. Detailed Design – Documenting and specifying as follows;

  • develop the preliminary design into a package ready for tender, construction, supervision, commissioning, and testing that will ensure design criteria are met.
  • Calculating and analysing all relevant systems to establish sizing of pumps, boilers, substations, cabling, chillers, cooling towers, etc.
  1. Design Output – Ensuring that final design documents;

  • have undergone internal review and sign-off proceedures
  • Incorporate all correct client and project information
  • Correctly archived for reference
  1. Site Supervision – Provide regular site attendance and progressively advise the client of project progress. Specific activities undertaken are as follows;

  • Check correct materials usage, including brands and models.
  • Audit all plant and equipment, checking on capacities, makes and models, controls, settings, and supports.
  • Check site safety measures.
  • Advise client of any non-compliances to drawings or specification.
  1. Testing & Commissioning – Attend site with the contractor to witness and verify the following;

  • Witness the test of all systems as required by the statutory authorities, relevant Australian Standards and specification.
  • Sign-off the verification of test witness
  • Witness the undertaking of commissioning of each system and advise the contractor of best methodology for process.
  • Provide operator training.
  • Ensure all systems are left operable.
